Final Year Project

Assalamualaikum w.b.t

Hi !

Today, I want to share sumting about my Final Year Project. My FYP's title is The Origin and Characterization of Kaolin in Malaysia and for your information, at the first time I saw the title,

I am wondering what is Kaolin?

Yeaah, my basic knowledge is very bad, I know that. I just learn and study for exam and after that, completely lost ! Few weeks later, after my partner and I made some research about Kaolin. Finally, we know what is Kaolin and what is the important of this white clay in our daily life.

I screamed out loud in my heart that I will do my best for my FYP !!   and I promise to myself that I will put my biggest effort in order to complete this project. Yeaaahhh ~

Definition of Kaolin

Kaolin is a group of common clay minerals that are hydrous aluminum silicates and constitute the principal ingredients of kaolin (china clay) and sometimes we called it as a white clay.

One of my greatest and precious experiences, when our group including the other group that done the bauxite project having such an enjoyable trip to Johor. We spent almost 4 days and learned so much knowledge there.

Dr Hassan, our supervisor and two technician helped us a lot ! Our classmate and his family that stay in Mersing also helped us by providing accommodation and delicious food. We feel very indebted and grateful ! Thank you so much ~ I will never forget all those sweet memories !

The funny part is, my friends and I had considered our classmate's grandmother as our nenek too. She had been so kind to us and when I saw her, I remembered my late grandmother. I miss her a lot!

Actually, they are many things I want to share in here but it is too much and I afraid that I'll make you feel boring :p Here are some pictures we had during our trip !

Kaolin deposit at Mersing which we suspect as secondary kaolin

Kaolin deposit nearby the fish pond

From the trip, I learned how to take samples and do some simple measurements which I never know before this. I think it is very important for us as a geophysicist to know more about Geology.

It is not only about the geophysics's survey but we also need to know geology that support our survey's result. Its useless when we done seismic but we do not even know what is the anomaly found under the subsurface. Geology can tell us from A to Z !!  Geology and Geophysics need to be combine in order to get a very strong and precise result ~

p/s : I tried to write in English and I know maybe there are some mistakes on grammar or whatsoever but I love it ! i want to learn and I want to improve my English !
